EX LIBRIS lets you see the sea while you are enjoying your favorite novel or a concert at sunset
Collaboration with: NO.MAD Arquitectos – Eduardo Arroyo.
The building is made up of a ground floor with the entrance and reception associated with the magazine area that slides, through a reading area in steps, towards the first basement. This main reading room ends in an area with tables associated with a patio planted with bamboo for reading outdoors. On this bright lower floor is the Reading Area for children protected from the rest of the spaces.
The first floor houses the Multipurpose Room connected, through a retractable glazing, to an open-air seating area forming a recreational space for shows, presentations or reading. This continuity ends in a rest terrace and possible stage. Its privileged elevated location gives the Multipurpose Room excellent panoramic views over the sea horizon. Both tiered structures are glazed in their vertical parts allowing the entry of indirect natural light towards the reading areas on the first basement and the consultation areas on the second. On this lower floor there is the book depository and the lending area.
The second floor houses the Administration, Management and IT Room. On the roof there is a Terrace-Bar to enjoy the impressive views of the sea and the rugged coast of Nerja. The volume that makes up this upper floor in a slight cantilever protects the Multipurpose Room and part of the stands from the sun, guaranteeing distant views as a backdrop to any activity.
